Customized UV-LEDs: development and production of application-specific systems

Opsytec develops and manufactures customer-specific UV LED systems wherever standard emitters do not fit – for example with limited space, irradiation from several directions, ring lights, or when the waste heat cannot be released into the surroundings. The wavelengths 275, 365, 385, 395 and 405 nm are available, further wavelengths on request. Development, production and the calibration laboratory are all in-house, so small batches, test samples and prototypes are equally possible.

Possible reasons for customized UV-LED:

• The system already exists. Standard products can’t be installed due to limited space.
• Irradiation from one direction is not sufficient

From the first conversation to series production

It starts with a short technical conversation: wavelength, required irradiance, available space, cycle time and how the waste heat can be dissipated. From this we derive a design that we verify in optical simulation before anything is built – the irradiance distribution on the part can be assessed while it is still a drawing.

Test samples follow and, if required, small batches or series production. Every system is measured in our calibration laboratory before delivery. On request we supply the matching UV sensor for continuous monitoring in operation.
