3D UV test chamber BS-05: High-performance UV irradiation for demanding applications

The 3D UV test chamber BS-05 is a large irradiation chamber for double-sided, 3D irradiation of samples with UV or visible light. A sample plate made of stainless steel or fused silica or a rotating holder for mixing fluids are available. Like all BS irradiation chambers, the BS-05 offers time- and dose-controlled irradiation of samples with UV light.

The chamber can be fully equipped for one of the spectral ranges UVC, UVB, or UVA to achieve the highest irradiance – 8 mW/cm² in UVC, 4 mW/cm² in UVB, 8 mW/cm² in UVA and 10 mW/cm² in UVA+. This high-performance UV irradiation also covers demanding test tasks with high dose requirements. Alternately, the use of two separately controlled lamp groups for different spectral ranges allows for especially flexible operation of the chamber.

The large irradiation chamber of the test chamber has a base area of 86 x 65 cm² and a height of 32 cm. The maximum sample chamber temperature during operation is approx. 25 °C, so that thermal damage to the samples is avoided. Due to the high homogeneity of the irradiation, the samples can be positioned as required.

We offer the UV-MAT and UV-MAT Touch irradiation control systems for the BS-05. Both systems control two spectral ranges separately and ensure a constant dose, regardless of factors such as lamp ageing, contamination or temperature. The dose is recorded by calibrated sensors equipped with a high-precision analog-to-digital converter and a temperature sensor.

The UV-MAT Touch offers a high-resolution capacitive touchscreen for operation. A Cortex ARM processor ensures longevity and update capability, allowing new functions to be implemented on site. The device and PC software are Windows 10/11 compatible. Numerical and graphical displays of single and multi-channel irradiations, oscillograms and settings are clearly structured. Parameterization is intuitive and password-protected directly on the device.

Alternatively, the UV-MAT Touch can be operated via the PC, which allows multi-stage irradiations and detailed documentation of the irradiation to be carried out.

Simulate the two-sided irradiation of the BS-05

The BS-05 irradiates from both sides – the UV irradiation chamber simulator models the lamps above and below the sample plane and shows how irradiance and dose are distributed across both sides. Measurement plane, lamp configuration and target object can be chosen freely and the result saved as a simulation report.
